    Married Dec. 7 in Williamsport, Md. Miss Mona Louise Zirkle daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Everette Zirkle of New Market, and Mr. Charles Edward Ousley Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ousley of Perrine, Florida.

    The Shenandoah Valley Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association was held in Frances’ Beauty Shoppe of New Market Dec. 6. Those present were Mrs. Shelia Deal of Elkton, Mrs. Doris Walters of Mt. Jackson, Miss Marjorie Tussing of Fishersville, Mrs. Ruth Moyers of New Market, Mrs. Pat Glunt of Woodstock, Mrs. Nellie Dove, Linville, Mrs. Dorothy May of Mt. Crawford, Mrs. Goldie Woodson of Mt. Jackson, Mrs. Nancy Kibler of Broadway, Mrs. Elvira Hinkle of Timberville and Mrs. Frances Orebaugh of New Market.

    Felix Sanders was elected president of the Beta Club of Triplett High School for the term of 1956-57. Other officers elected were Richard Tussing, vice president; Harriet Zerkel, secretary; Wanda Heishman, Treasurer; Anna Lee Emswiler, reporter; Mrs.  J. E. Swartz, advisor.

Feb. 16, 1956

    Mt. Jackson. Miss Shirley Green, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Green, was crowned queen and Mr. John Koontz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Shields Koontz, King of Hearts by Prof. J. E. Swartz at the Valentine party given by the Student Cooperative Association of Triplett High School. The party was chaperone by Miss Doris Jean Bowman, SCA sponsor, and Miss Selina Hines.

    The girls’ basketball team of Triplett High School won the county championship. The Pantherettes won over the Toms  Brook team with a score of 49 to 42. The following girls make up the team: Fay  Hansberger, Margaret Ryan, Dorcas Dodson, Nancy Steadman, Wanda Dodson, Gloria Miller, Evelyn Baker, Virginia Click and Barbara Bolt.
