Oct. 4, 1956

    Triplett High School Senior Killed Accidentally. Jerry Allen Wright, aged 17 of Mt. Jackson and a senior at Triplett High School, was killed in a hunting accident on the opening day of hunting season. He had set out from home about 8:30 a.m. to hunt squirrels. When he had not returned at dark, a search was instituted and his body was found at the base of a steep slope and near him the .22 caliber rifle which apparently discharged accidentally had wounded him in the head about the right temple. He had been living for the past four years in the home of Mrs. Lucy Ryan of Jerome. He was a son of Marvin and Mary Romick Wright of Woodstock, one of a large family of children, ten brothers and sisters.

    Mr. and Mrs. Garland H. Golladay of New Market have announced the marriage of their daughter, Peggy, to Mr. Alfred Roosevelt Branner Jr. Sept 22 at Washington, D.C.

    Married. Miss Martha Ann Broaddus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Broaddus of Luray and Mr. James Royal Steptoe Jr. of New Market on Sept. 2 in Washington, D.C.

    Edinburg. Mr. John Irvin took members of his Sunday School class to Washington, D.C. on Saturday and attended the ball game. They were Mickey Thompson, Butch Hosaflook, Bobby Fadley, Donald Beazley, Eugene and Benton Weatherholtz, Eddie and Dick Hite.
