    Died. Mrs. Sivina May Jenkins, 75, wife of Branson Jenkins, at her Home in Edinburg Oct. 22. Born at Mathias, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late J. Hugh Jenkins and Mrs. Sarah Johnson Jenkins and had live the major portion of her life in Shenandoah County. Besides her husband, she is survived by 11 children, five sons and six daughters: Brown Jenkins of Winchester, Thurman Jenkins of Red Bank, New Jersey; Harold Jenkins, Houston, Texas; Eldridge Jenkins, Elkton, Va.; Charles Jenkins, Edinburg; Mrs. Lillian Smith and Mrs. Jessie Davis, Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Glenna Runion, Rockville, Md.; Mrs. May Wills, Mt. Jackson and Mrs. Virginia Strickler, Winchester, and Mrs. James Tucker Miller, Paw Paw, W. Va.; Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters: Cleveland Jenkins, Maurertown, William Jenkins, Edinburg, Mrs. Florence Whetzel and Mrs. Mollie Whetzel, Mathias, W Va., Mrs. Elizabeth DeLawder, Macanie and Mrs. Clara Walker, Washington, D.C.  Interment in Union Forge cemetery.

    Died. David A. Bowman, age 86 of 100 S. Church St., New Carlisle, Pa., died Sunday. He was the father of Wesley D. Bowman and was born in Maurertown Jan. 29, 1870. Other survivors include four sons, Winston D. of New Carlisle, George T. of Springfield, Cletus A. of Medway and Joe B. of Fairborn, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Craig of Springfield and Mrs. Howard Circle of Jackson, Ohio; two brothers, Jess of Republic Ohio and Will of Toms Brook. Burial in New Carlisle cemetery.

    Marriage Licenses. The following marriage licenses were issued recently in the office of the Shenandoah County Circuit Court: Oct. 10, Robert Nelson Andrews, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Andrews Jr. of Strasburg, and Mrs. Goldie Ella Hammond Bowley, 23, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest F. Hammond of Strasburg, married Oct 13 in Front Royal; Oct. 12, Joe Haas Grove, 54, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred T. Grove, and Mrs Hilda Mae Lutz, 31, widow, both of Edinburg, married in Charlottesville on October 14; Oct 17, James Edward Dove, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Edward Dove, Timberville, and Miss Patsy Lee Atkinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Catchell Atkinson, New Market, married Oct. 21 in Harrisonburg; Oct. 18: Charles Frank Dysart Jr, 23, son of C Frank Dysart Sr and Mrs Dysart of Woodstock, and Miss Nancy Lucille Funkhouser, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lee Funkhouser of Edinburg, married in Edinburg.

    Woodstock. Paul Swecker, Jr., age 9, appeared on the “Watch The Birdie show” WRC-TV Washington with Paul Allen last night at 6:30. He received a Robert Roebuck toy for answering a question on the program. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Swecker, Sr., of Woodstock.

    Mr. and Mrs James Neff of Edinburg have announced the engagement of their daughter, Vilma Leigh, to Stanford Ruby, son of Claude Ruby and the late Mrs. Florence Ruby of Woodstock.
