    Marriage Licenses. Jan. 2 Chester Lee Estep, 40, farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Crowell Ashby Estep, and Miss Vada Bell Lam, 43, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward DeWitt Lam, both of Quicksburg. Couple married same day.

    Jan 2. Braden Elwood Helsley, 21, son of Mrs. Herbert Braden Helsley of Woodstock, and Miss Nancy Lee Hite, 28, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Everett Hite of Edinburg. Couple married same day.

    Jan. 2. Stanley Robert Haines, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Sylvanus Haines of New Market, and Mrs. Constance Sue Tucker, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emmett Tucker of Quicksburg RFD. Couple married next day.

    Jan 4. Oscar Berkley Heflin Jr., 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Heflin Sr. of Front Royal, and Mrs. Lucille Virginia Strother, 24, widow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lee Jenkins of Strasburg. Couple married the same day.

    Jan. 7 – Thomas William Funk, 37, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Funk, and Mrs. Pauline Fultz Silvious, 30, widow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harrison Fultz, both of Maurertown.  Both persons are natives of Warren County. They were married same day.

    Died. Braxton Tildon Hamilton, died January 6 at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital where he had entered about 30 minutes prior to this death. He was born July 4, 1899 west of Mt Jackson, a son of Birdie and Ida Hepner Hamilton. In 1947 he married Miss Helen Collins of Pennsylvania. Survivors are his wife, three sons, Jack Hamilton, Warrenton, Thomas N. Hamilton, Woodstock, and P. .F. C. Edmund Hamilton, stationed with the U. S. Marines in Yorasuka Japan, also a daughter Mrs. Jo Ann Sager of Strasburg, and brothers and sisters Mrs. Silas Miller, Jerome, Mrs. Luther Funkhouser, Conicville, Columbus Hamilton,, Conicville, Hampford Hamilton and Philbert Hamilton, both of Cumberland, Md.
