The staff of the New York Restaurant in Woodstock posed for this photo in the 1930s. The restaurant, located on the site of the present day Shenandoah County Circuit Courthouse, closed in the 1950s. Pete Blentson and his wife were proprietors and their son, Angelo, assumed management at their retirement. Angelo Blentson bought a diner and placed it on a parcel of land at the south end of Woodstock on the site where Bordenís Auto is located today. After Interstate 81 opened through Shenandoah County in 1966, Angelo and his wife moved the diner to Newport News where it remains to this day.
